Akal University, Talwandi Sabo, Bathinda, Punjab, was established by Kalgidhar Society, Baru Sahib, in the year 2015 as a private university. Built on 100 acres of land, the University is approved by U.G.C., Bar Council of India, the Government of Punjab, and NCTE. It offers 25 specializations, under bachelors, masters and integrated degree courses. These courses are spread across science, commerce, arts, vocational studies, and education. The university is one of India's leading higher education institutes. 

AU Bhatinda is equipped with modern facilities, including Wifi and CCTV cameras. The library has a huge collection of books, journals, and periodicals. With a sitting capacity of 80 people,  automation and an RFID-enabled security system, the library provides an ideal space for the readers. The University has separate accommodation in hostels for boys and girls. In addition, the students can indulge in extracurricular activities with a huge playground, indoor gaming hall, and outdoor gym. 

The university endeavors to support educational goals of all their students. Therefore, they provide scholarships to every deserving student. 

• The AUTS Scholarships are given to merit and reserved categories.

The AUTS Bhatinda offers various undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral level courses in different departments, including Punjabi, English, Education, Mathematics, Botany, Zoology, Physics, Chemistry, Psychology, Economics, Commerce, Management, Education and Computer Science and performing arts.  

The university commences its admission process in June every year. The aspirants can apply for the same online accordingly. 

Application Process

• The aspirants can apply online or offline for the admissions. Offline mode requires a personal visit or the duly filled application form sent via speed post to the campus. 
• The online application mode requires logging in to the college website, filling the application form, uploading documents and online deposition of application fee. 
• The selected candidates are communicated through their registered email id about the further admission-related process.

Application Fees

The prospectus fee is INR 400, while the admission fee is INR 3000 paid once a year.

Steps to fill out Akal University Bhatinda Application Form

• The applicant has to fill out the form with details like your name, date of birth, gender, nationality, course applied for, guardian details, academic qualifications, etc.
• The communication details like address, contact number(s), email id, etc., need to be filled in.
• The required documents need to be attached. 
• After submitting the fee, the application document must be saved and presented. The applicant has to download the application form for future reference.
• After submitting the application form, the applicants shall be contacted on their registered email ids for counseling if selected.
• The applications are accepted only based on merit.

Akal University Talwandi Sabo 2023-24 Admission Dates

The AUTS commences the admission process in June every year. However, below mentioned are the tentative dates for their admission process.

• The availability of admission forms will start from the 1st week of June.
• The last date of form submission will be in the 1st week of July.
• Applications will be shortlisted in the 2nd week of July.
• The final merit list will be announced in the 3rd week of July.
• The 4th week of July is kept for seat allocation. 
• The classes will begin from the 1st week of August.

Entrance Exams

• AU Bhatindaconducts entrance exams for selecting candidates that applied for Ph.D. courses. 
• The university evaluates the applicant's respective qualifying exams for the rest of the degree courses. 
• The students who have qualified for the exams like GATE/ CSIR-NET/ UGC-NET /SLET are exempted from the entrance exams.
• The entrance exam conducted by the university has two parts: objective and subjective.

Akal University promotes the overall development of a student's academic and intellectual capabilities. Therefore, they put effort into providing free computational and soft skills training. In addition, the university organizes summer camps and additional lectures by guest faculty to support their goal-oriented course curriculum. 

The university works on a principle of nurturing education with cultural values and spreading the word of unity and spirituality. Therefore, the university took some initiatives in this direction that helps the society at large. Some of these initiatives are mentioned as under:

• Sri Guru Granth Sahib Studies- The university started this course in the academic year 2015-16. This course is designed to inculcate the teachings and values of the Holy Book into the young minds. The course also includes imparting awareness about Sikh history, biographies and teachings of their eminent saints and sages, Sikh tenants, Guru Darbar Maryada etc. The SGGS Studies also involves teachings of other religions across the world. 
• The comparative study broadens the mind of the new generation towards values like human welfare, unity and spirituality.
• The university provides this course at certificate, undergraduate and research levels. 
• Students do not have to pay any fee for this course as the university offers this course free of cost.
• Free coaching for competitive exams- The university endeavors to impart quality education and promising careers to the students. Therefore, it took an initiative to support their aspirations by bridging the gap between education and career by providing them free coaching for competitive exams. This initiative helps all kinds of students who have high ambitions but lack the appropriate resources.
• The coaching is provided by the Center for Competitive Examinations like UPSC, UGC-NET etc.
• The students are trained from the basic level of exam preparation, taking exams of different rounds, to facing the interview.
• The coaching is provided regularly and simultaneously with their regular course of study. 
• For interview rounds, the students are given rigorous practice of debates, mock interviews, group discussions etc. 
• AU Bhatindaalso organizes guest lectures and expert’s involvement from various departments of the university, ensuring only quality teaching goes to the students.
• Students get the opportunity to interact with the already selected students for these exams. This helps them understand all the Dos and Don’ts from the mouths of those who cracked the exams.
• English lab- English language has always been a prefered means of communication in the corporate and educational world. Many of those who study English as a second language, don’t get enough exposure to the learning sources, correct practice and learning environment. Akal University, Punjab addresses this unspoken need of the students by establishing the English lab. Here the students get an ideal environment, correct guidance and enough time and space to level up and enhance their spoken and written skills. This helps them gain confidence and encouragement to the students to meet the professional parameters.

Events

Gurmat Samagam was conducted on 23rd February 2022 at Akal University campus. The event was hosted by Kalgidhar Trust-Baru Sahib in remembrance of Baba Iqbal Singh ji. The event was telecasted live on Facebook and Youtube pages.

Clubs and Societies

AU Bhatinda has created several clubs and societies dedicated to their departments to impart in-depth knowledge to the students. These include La Societe Botanique, Divinity Club, Dr. Manmohan Singh Business Club, English Literary Society, Punjabi Sahitya Sabha, etc.
